ARS Sosse Kindergarten children in Artsakh during lunch time
The Aykesdan "Sosse" Kindergarten/ Day Care Center is entirely funded by ARS Canada through a generous donation by Mrs. Janet Toukhmanian Walsh. The Hatrout "Meds Taghlar" school is funded by ARS Canada Region.

To provide the same for all disadvantaged children in Artsakh, to give the opportunity to the war widows and women of economically deprived families with small children to be free to work in order to increase family incomes.

Sometime ago, the Ministry of Education of Armenia donated a war-damaged building to the ARS in Hatrout, to be renovated and used for war orphans and the children of families in need of assistance. Soon after, in 1999, the ARS "Sosse" Kindergarten/Day Care Center had opened its doors with a maximum occupancy limit of 75 children between the ages of 3 and 6. Hot meals are served three times a day, warm and secure surroundings and elementary- schooling is provided to these children six days a week, year round. There are 75 enrolled students with 8 teachers, 1 nurse and 2 cooks.
